Brilliant New Goldeneye 007 Mod Replaces James Bond with Mario

What’s the best thing you can do with Mario? Answer: turn him into James Bond!

GoldenEye 007 was released over 20 years ago in 1997, but that hasn’t stopped a dedicated modding community breathing new life into the game on a regular basis over on the GoldenEye Vault. Now a genius new N64 mod has been developed by user StupidMarioBros1Fan  which replaces the original Bond characters with those from the Super Mario Brothers franchise.

There a fewer stranger sights in gaming than the monochrome world of Goldeneye 007 being populated by your primary-coloured Nintendo favourites! Aside from some hilarious dialogue changes, the single player version of the gameplay follows the original exactly. Albeit, instead of shooting enemy guards you’ll be shooting Koopa Troopa’s, and James Bond’s dexterous hands are replaced by the white gloves of everyone’s favourite moustache-d hero.

You’ll encounter more Mario characters as the game progresses, while the mod also affects multiplayer mode. So – if you’ve ever wondered who would win in a gun battle between Mario and Luigi, you can finally find out!
